A Message from the Founder
"Guardianship is not ownership.
It is a sacred responsibility entrusted for the benefit of humanity."
Welcome to HSWAGATA.
It is my great honour to present this Institutional Profile of HSWAGATA—a place founded not merely to preserve sacred Buddhist relics, but to cultivate wisdom, safeguard cultural heritage, advance peace, and inspire ethical leadership for present and future generations.
From its earliest beginning, HSWAGATA has been guided by a simple yet profound conviction: that the Buddha's heritage should not remain only as an object of reverence, but should become a living source of education, compassion, research, dialogue, and peaceful coexistence.
Our institution therefore seeks to integrate five inseparable responsibilities:
Sacred Relic Custodianship
Heritage Conservation
Buddhist Education and Research
Peacebuilding and Community Service
Institutional Excellence through Good Governance
Every relic entrusted to our care represents not personal possession, but a sacred trust. Every programme we conduct aims not only to educate minds, but also to cultivate integrity, compassion, wisdom, and responsibility.
At HSWAGATA, we believe that authentic preservation extends beyond protecting physical heritage. It also requires preserving ethical values, historical memory, cultural identity, and humanity's shared aspiration for peace.
This Institutional Profile reflects our continuing commitment to transparency, accountability, professional management, and international standards while remaining firmly rooted in the timeless teachings of the Buddha.
Our vision reaches beyond the present generation.
We aspire to establish HSWAGATA as an internationally respected institution where sacred heritage, academic excellence, ethical governance, and peaceful collaboration come together to benefit society.
This journey would not be possible without the encouragement of venerable teachers, scholars, researchers, supporters, volunteers, partners, and all those who share our dedication to preserving the Buddha's legacy with wisdom, humility, and integrity.
I warmly invite you to join us in this shared responsibility.
Together, may we preserve the treasures of the past, serve the needs of the present, and inspire the generations yet to come.
May all beings be peaceful.
May wisdom flourish.
May the Buddha Sāsana endure for the welfare and happiness of the world.
